
The Story
Cosima Wagner (1837-1930) was Richard Wagner´s second wife and daughter of composer Franz Liszt, together with Richard Wagner she co-founded the Bayreuth Festival and devoted her life after her husband´s death to directing the festival (which she ran for 22 years) and his Music. Their son Siegfried Wagner (1869-1930) was also a composer and conductor and was the artistic director of the Bayreuth Festival from 1908 until his death.
Signed postcard photograph of Cosima Wagner shown at a relatively advanced age with her signature on the front. Verso contains inscription by Siegfried Wagner with his signature underneath, possibly written in 1924. Stamped on verso by Ramme and Ulrich photographers, Bayreuth. Size is 3.5 x 5.25 inches, some wear, otherwise in very good condition. RARE VINTAGE HISTORICAL ITEM!
