French composer and musicologist (1857-1936), a pioneer in ethnomusicology. 

Autograph letter signed, 1 page, dated in Paris in 1887, written in French and sold untranslated.  Very clear handwriting and signature. Size is 5.25 x 8 inches, small folds and a small stain on the verso, otherwise in excellent condition.
