Argentinian General (1778-1850), Liberator of Argentina, Chile and Peru from the Spanish Empire. Considered one of the greatest fighters for freedom in the Americas, San Martín is Argentina´s founding father and most important national hero (see HERE).
Original historical document, signed by San Martin in Lima, August 24th, 1821, as a new Protector of Peru (a precursor of Presidency), naming someone called Juan Negroni as a 2nd Lieutenant in one of the Army´s companies. Also signed by Bernardo de Monteagudo (1789-1825), who took an important part in the struggles for liberation in South America and was War Minister when this document was signed, in 1821. Monteagudo was assassinated in Lima just 4 years later, in 1825, at age 35.
One sheet, 8.75 x 12.25 inches, this is a printed page completed by hand and signed by both important men. Folds, rust on borders and minor tape damage and rust at the top, in overall very good condition.
