French bass (1851-1914), one of the most acclaimed basses of the Golden Age of Opera. Autograph letter signed, 2 pages written in French, sold with a separate English translation (which also contains a transcription of the original French text). Clear and bold handwriting and signature and excellent penmenship on the translation as well. Size of original document is 4.5 x 7 inches, translation document is 5.5 x 8.5 inches, in excellent condition.
