Italian soprano and later mezzo-soprano (1851-1930), most remembered today for having created the role of Mistress Quickly in Verdi's Falstaff, also the first Princess Eboli in that composer's revised version of Don Carlo that premiered at La Scala, Milan in 1884.
Autograph musical quote signed underneath photo of her, dated in Lisbon in 1893. Additional signature and 2 extensive inscriptions on verso, both dated in Lisbon in 1884. Photo is 4.25 x 6.5 inches mounted on cardboard, total item size is 8.5 x 10.5 inches, several tears on edges of cardboard, otherwise in very good condition.
