"... yesterday I received your kind letter of the 22nd N. I am sorry that I have no longer had the pleasure of seeing you in the Hotel au Belle Venise. Thank you for the... You intended to engage me [sic.] for La Scala, but I cannot accept this engagement for this theatre and its payments. And then this theatre not of my passion [sic.] I could have danced [sic.] at the great Operas in Paris alone for payment and I would have liked to accept...".
Size is 7.3 x 9.52 inches, 2 written pages in one sheet (front and verso), some light tears, folds, creases, in overall very good condition.Â
