āā¦Since I returned to America over four years ago, I have been doing more in the way of conducting and seem to have found that my forte lies more in that direction than in violin playing alone. (ā¦) As soon as I arrived here from London my old position as chef dāorchestre in the principal theatre in this city, was offered to me, and I have kept it ever sinceā¦ā.
