American conductor (1915-1976), who had great difficulty with his early career as an african-american conductor. He eventually conducted the NY Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra and others. Signed photo shown young, inscribed and dated in 1942. Size is 8 x 10 inches, in very good condition.
