French sea explorer (1910-1997), conservationist, filmmaker and scientist who studied the sea and all forms of life in water.

Beautiful signed book "Whales" by Jacques Cousteau and Yves Paccalet, first edition in English by Abrams, 1988. A total of 280 numbered pages plus hard covers and original dust jacket, with many color photographs and illustrations.

Cousteau signed with blue felt tip pen on a semi-transparent page before the first title page. Very minor wear, almost like new, size is 9.5 x 12.25 inches, a rather heavy, coffee table book.
