Belgian-born French romantic composer (1822-1890), pianist, organist and teacher. An important composer, Franck wrote pieces for many different genres, including vocal, orchestral and chamber music.
Signed score for his scared oratorio Les Béatitudes (1869-1879), inscribed "to my friend Auguez" and boldly signed by Franck on the title page. Crayon markings on the frontend page indicate past ownership: "N. Auguez, 49 Rue Nollet, Paris et 64 Rue St Lazare", this is obviously Franck´s friend to whom he dedicated this piece. Oratorio is dedicated to Franck´s wife.
A total of 308 numbered pages plus extra pages and non-original hardcovers in black cloth and golden letters in the spine, published by Brandus, Paris, no year indicated.
Size is 7.6 x 11 inches, spotted rust on pages and on the book´s edges, in overall very good condition.
