French-born Uruguayan-Argentinian singer (1890-1935) and also composer, owner of a beautiful tenor voice, considered the most famous tango singer in history, dying tragically in a plane crash aged 45, when he was at the peak of his fame. Beautiful signed photograph, inscribed with a short sentiment in French, dated in 1933. Blind stamped on the front and ink-stamped on verso by Foto Silva, Montevideo, Uruguay. Size is 6.75 x 9.25 inches, tiny pinholes over the upper-right and lower-left corners, otherwise in excellent condition.
