American writer (1868-1934), one of the early nature writers of the American Southwest. Signed book "The Land of Little Rain", her most famous book, now a classic, inscribed on the first title page to famous American mountaineer, environmentalist and author Francis P. Farquhar (1887-1974). First edition, fourth impression, published by Houghton, Mifflin and Company, 1903. Hardcovers, 282 pages, with original illustrations on the margins, minor wear on spine, small crack on frontend page, in very fine condition.
