The Story

Austrian Jewish violinist (1906-1944), niece of Gustav Mahler, deported by the Nazis to Auschwitz where she died on April 4, 1944.

Album page signed by her in Copenhagen on November 28th, 1933, attached with a small half-tone photograph, which apparently is of another female violinist and a clip with a silhouette of a female figure performing the instrument. On verso there are two clips with more signatures (one is Aase Clausen, Miss Europe 1932, the other is unidentified), confirming this is an album mounted with clips of female signatures.

Signed as Prihoda-Rosé (she was married to famous Czech violinist Vasa Prihoda from 1930 to 1935).

Size is 4.75 x 6.5 inches, in very good condition.

Alma Rosé's autographs are extremely rare to find!
