Exceedingly rare signed photo, with a short sentiment in French, dated by him in St. Petersburg in 1886, almost exactly a year before his death at age of only 44 during a festive ball.Â
Size is 4.2 x 5.7 inches, trimmed at the top, professionally repaired cracks but clearly legible signature, inscription and image, in only fair condition but priced accordingly.
Borodin is by far one of the rarest Russian composers in autograph photos, and this is the only one we have seen ever.
