Adam, Adolphe - Autograph Letter Signed 1836 & Photograph

French composer and music critic (1803-1856), prolific creator of ballets and operas, Adam is best known for his ballets Giselle (1841) and Le Corsaire (1856). 

Autograph letter in French (sold with translation) signed by the composer to a friend, dated March 23, 1836, about personal matters, mounted on a mat with his portrait.  Total size is 13.1 x 9 inches, letter size is 3.9 x 4.9 inches, embossed initials over the upper-right corner, portrait's size is 4.8 x 5.8 inches, all in excellent condition.
